Udupi, Jul 19: The First Pencil Day was celebrated by the Kindergarten section of the school on July 14.
The programme began at 9 AM at Mother Theresa Hall followed by an invocation by the UKG students.
Pre-writing skills are the fundamental skills children need to develop before they are able to write. Pencil is used by kids to learn to scribble, draw and write which is the basic foundation in child’s learning process.
The purpose of celebrating pencil day in school is to make kids happy and make them feel proud for transition from slate pencil to pencil. To mark this wonderful moment Dheemahi of U KG-A elaborated about the importance of pencil through the fancy dress.











































































































































































 
Principal Fr Johnson Sequeira and vice principal Rita Quadros handed over the greatest treasure the pencil to the tiny tots of LKG. On this occasion, the principal briefed the importance of the pencil and wished the tiny tots good luck. Neil of UKG-B conveyed the best wishes to his juniors.
Pencils were distributed and the inauguration was done by LKG kids by the act of pencil down and scribble on the pencil chart with their tiny hands displayed on the stage. As a part of an entertainment kids of UKG recited an action song of pencil.
The programme was anchored by Renita. Prathyush of UKG-D welcomed the gathering and Ahana of UKG-C proposed a vote of thanks.
